Vaccines continue to lead many lists as the century’s most important healthcare advance. The world has seen elimination of certain illness and decreased occurrence of others. Of the diseases that still occur, there is often no specific treatment or significant morbidity (injury) at diagnosis.

Unfortunately, vaccines have become a large source of confusion and misinformation, which often originates from biased sources that may also include individuals in the medical profession. The best source for information on vaccines comes from good science and appropriate interpretation of the science from nonprofit professional consensus (as opposed to individuals).

For further information on vaccines go to www.cispimmunize.org and www.immunizationinfo.org/about/index.cfm. These websites are operated by nonprofit organizations and provide unbiased, balanced professional information on immunizations. Copies of the routine vaccine schedule can also be obtained at these sites.

If you have any further questions concerning vaccinations or alternative vaccine schedules please discuss these with Dr. Baker at the time of your well visit.
