Dr. Michael Baker is a board-certified pediatrician in practice since 1990. His experience includes private, community-public health and academic pediatric care. He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics and a Section Member of Developmental Pediatrics.
He obtained his medical education at the University of Mississippi Medical Center, pediatric residency at Emory University and received additional developmental pediatric training from University of Virginia. After pediatric residency, Dr. Baker headed a community health clinic pediatric program and held academic positions at the University of South Alabama.
Dr. Baker moved his medical practice to Ocala, Florida while his wife attended graduate school at the University of Florida. Upon the completion of her degree, Dr. Baker attended a development pediatric program at University of Virginia and then returned to Mount Dora to practice and have no plans to leave. He loves the community and can be easily spotted out and about in Mount Dora.
Dr. Baker’s education and experience have instilled a strong sense of advocacy for all children and especially for those with special needs.
When not working, Dr. Baker can be found playing musical instruments, including upright bass, acoustic guitar and the ukulele.
