Mission and Values

Practice Mission Statement

The practice’s goal is to assist with the healthy growth and development of children (i.e. to treat the whole child). Though many consider medicines the primary tools of physicians, however dispensing education and good preventive care in pediatrics is equally as important. Children do not stand still (literally and figuratively) and need close monitoring of their development (height, weight, motor skills, language, social, cognitive/learning, and behavior).

The office uses “Best Evidence” approach to care. Many of these are covered by the American Academy of Pediatrics standards. Where evidence may be lacking or minimal, the office follows guidelines placed by specialists within respected fields. A referral to a specialist may also be indicated depending on availability of services and degree of complexity. Please also see "Useful Medical Links" for reliable medical information.

Though Mount Dora Pediatrics does not consider itself an alternative medicine provider, we are interested in learning about the complementary and alternative medicine practices of our patients. Overtime, some of these alternative practices have been added to standard care as more science has become available.
